Emily + Henrik

Our Story

Before the official start to summer in 2013, we met online looking for a companion to explore the city.
This was only the beginning…

The First Date, 2013

Lucky Strike — We probably should have known then that "Lucky Strike" would mean more than an ordinary first date over a pool game. Of course, Henrik won not just the game but Emily's heart.

Summer Solstice, 2013

The Highline — Our first "official date" and romance seals the deal; a summer of love and fun, sipping Tom Collins’, rooftop hopping, great meals and laughs in New York City.

Christmas, 2014

Meet the Au's — Henrik's first visit to Toronto, Canada sharing a fun Christmas with the Au family.

Summer, 2015

Makes A Move — Saying goodbye to Bedstuy Brooklyn and hello to Manhattan, Henrik and Emily makes their home in Hell's Kitchen.

Christmas, 2015

Meet the Rypkema's — Emily's first visit to Brisbane, Australia spending a wonderfully hot summer Christmas with the Rypkema family.

Spring, 2016

The Proposal — Emily and Henrik get engaged, marking the next chapter in our journey together.

Through our journey, we have laughed together, cried together, shared some fancy meals here and there, but also had our fair share of instant noodles when times were tough.

We see a better version of ourselves through each other's eyes and found our strength in each other's heart. We were each other's home in the foreign land of New York City.
